Folks,
It's that time: a time of spotty stressed teenagers,
knackered musicians, excess waistlines, etc.
I thought about trying some literary styles this year. But I could only manage a quick Haiku:
Christmas comes around -
Smartphone light flickers softly -
Sozzled parents snooze.
Hmm - I'd better keep my day job. Anyway, here is my brief round-up.
Adventures
Artistic:
- Quite a bit of general flute / oboe / violin / piano / horn playing, and singing.
- I got to play in Ein Heldenleben (with Fulham
Symphony Orchestra). Not sure I like the piece, but a fun horn part!
- Saw Othello
at Stratford, featuring neither Ainsley
nor Lenny, apparently.
- Ellie danced at Sadler's Wells - world famous top dance venue (*4)
- and she played in the Royal Albert Hall for Shakespeare's birthday
- ... and played at Kings Cross to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Waterloo
Tempus Fugit:
Keeping The Economy Going
- Spent a zillion pounds mending our dog, Izzy, who had exciting internal fluid
leakages, rather like a scene out of Brazil.
Izzy is now fine and bouncy. Vet bought a new Porsche.
Sporting Achievements
- Josh took up Water Polo. Tokyo '20 here we come? (*8)
- Ellie walked up Scafell Pike for her DoE.
- Barbara and I ate quite a lot of chocolate.
Education
- Ellie started on the Exam
Treadmill with GCSE Mocks. Ah, how we love Gove et al...
Social Life
Well, that's it folks. Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Andy, Barbara, Ellie & Josh
